Sean Fincham

Through university I worked in a variety of small businesses and the drivers behind business success were always particularly interesting to me.

Upon completion of my Commerce degree I was looking for a career that would allow me to gain an understanding of best business practice in varied scenarios and the Chartered Accounting environment seemed to fit the bill.

My early work experience in the field was at Pitcher Partners which gave me a great level of experience helping clients across industries as varied as mining, short term loans, optic fibre cabling and property development to name just a few. This was a great experience and I can’t imagine a better place to have started my career. Upon completion of my Chartered Accounting qualifications and three years at Pitcher Partners I had promised myself an extended period of travel and I spent 11 months backpacking through Nepal, India, Japan, China, Turkey and Europe. Needless to say this was an incredible experience.

When I was told about the business model at Medical Financial and had the opportunity to meet Matt Connor and Mary Young I became excited about a new opportunity. At this stage in my career I am keen to soak up as much knowledge as possible and this is an excellent environment if that is your goal.

In my time at Medical Financial Group I have been impressed by the level of value add work that is conducted for clients while maintaining completion of standard compliance work in a timely and efficient manner, and how in line with my view of what an accountant/adviser should offer the firm is.

Outside of work I find myself just as busy as in the office trying to keep up with some of my favourite hobbies including catching up with mates, music, fishing, cycling and more latterly diy furniture.
