So why do I do what I do....simply put - I want to help others achieve their goals. My biggest passion is being able to teach, direct, show (no matter how you put it) people how to achieve what they want.
Whether it be clients trying to sort out their financial positions in order to purchase their dream home or business or manage the day to day operations, to youth who are struggling to understand who they are and surviving the battles of school, friends and family. The ability to make the difficult more simplified is so important. That aiming for the horizon is one outlook but to dream and to dream big (realistically) is so important. There is something very satisfying about seeing a client achieve their dreams but even more important seeing the next generation coming through know they can aim high and soar like eagles.
In the midst of this, there has to be a relationship. A relationship based on trust. I have found that when the other person succeeds and you have played a part, there is a joy and an excitement for not only that person but for yourself. You have actually fulfilled your role in helping that person. That is what fulfills me. All the other things are nice and enjoyable but at the end of the day, I prefer the relationships over those things. In the same way, I see cooking as an extension of that. The relationship between ingredients, but also the relationships with the people who enjoy what I cook. Food is the vehicle, but again its the relationships which drive it.
I guess at the end of the day, find out what you are passionate about and run with it. Mine has been cooking and helping others. I have been very blessed to be able to do both.
